Kathy Tarantola is a sought after commercial and editorial photographer for clients in New England and across the US. Her clients love Kathy’s ability to create unique and engaging portraits while making her subjects feel at ease and bringing out the best in their portraits. Kathy has photographed in many settings with adults and children, including universities, hospitals, corporate offices, warehouses, and manufacturing facilities. The stories she illustrates have passion and power, and reach out to the humanity and her subjects.
Kathy’s work combines her ability to understand and represent her clients’ marketing and branding needs with her own experimental edge, creating unique compositions featuring images that are fresh, illustrative, and compelling.
Kathy enjoys working together with her clients to find the perfect look and light for each subject, and finds the act of collaboration a beautiful dance.
In addition to her client work, Kathy also contracts with the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA, photographing everything from portraits of artists and events to incredible works of art in linea the studio – including paintings, sculptures, textiles, and decorative objects. She was the lead architectural photographer for “The Accessible Home” a photographic publication featuring innovative ideas in homes tailored to those with accessibility needs.
Kathy is the past co-president and treasurer of the New England Chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP), which advocates for photographer’s rights and sponsors educational programs for the community. She is a member of the Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester, MA, and the Photographic Resource Center at Boston University.

Testimonials
“When working with CEOs, PhDs, doctors, high net-worth donors, celebrities AND children, it’s not easy to find just one photographer who can handle working with them all with the grace and ease as Kathy does. She can relax a CEO during corporate headshots, effortlessly capture candids of million dollar donors during events AND gain the trust of kids in a medical setting. I’ve hired Kathy for so many different types of shoots because she is a true professional and can handle whatever is thrown at her–with a smile. Needless to say, I highly recommend her.”
Elizabeth Gilbert Franks – Marketing Director, Joslin Diabetes Center, Boston, MA
“Kathy is a very creative photographer, adding professional insights and suggestions to each project she takes on. I have always particularly loved her portraiture. I think her friendly and personable nature allow her to put the subject at ease…so she’ll get a shot that most others would never be able to capture. She is also a great partner on conceptual pieces, paying attention to details that I might otherwise miss.”
Rosemary Weinberger – Creative Director, Dimensional Insights, Burlington, MA
